Cardamom Capsule Size and Surface Area Using Digital Image Processing Technique
Manual grading and sorting of cardamom spices require a long time and considerable resources. This research was carried out to contribute towards the use of machine vision technology in the grading of cardamom spices. In this regard, the utility of images captured by mobile devices was assessed using digital image processing techniques. The color images of cardamom capsules were acquired using an Apple iPhone 7 in the first place.
IoT Based Automated Indoor Vertical Hydroponics Farming Test-Bed
The aim of this work is to design and construct an indoor automatic vertical hydroponic system that does not depend on the outside climate. The designed system is capable to grow common type of crops that can be used as a food source inside homes without the need of large space. A microcontroller was working as a brain of the system, which communicates with different types of sensors to control all the system parameters and to minimize the
IOT control technology for disease management in agriculture field using image processing
Automate plant monitoring and smart gardening through IOT in the Arduino Mega Platform. Identifying diseases in plants leave and detect the type of disease by use of image processing. Image Processing steps are pre-processing, spot segmentation and features extraction, and classification. The extracted features are optimized by genetic algorithm and classified by KNN Classifier. In this study they tested for four types of apple plant disease including healthy leaves,
IoT enabled mushroom farm automation to classify toxic mushrooms
Weather monitoring and management is a significant feature for mushroom growth, especially the impact of temperature and humidity. This paper reflects an architectural design of IoT & Machine Learning (ML)-based Smart Mushroom Farming. The proposed system introduces Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM), Farm Automation, and Mushroom classification. The Internet of Things (IoT), the microcontroller ESP32, and some agriculture-related sensors enable smart monitoring and farm automation.
Use of solar green house for ventilated drying vegetables process with use of Clay CaCl2
The use of solar energy in drying of tomatoes through improved post harvesting technology may solve some problems of processing products. Most of the solar crop drying systems in market have small loading capacity and cannot operate during the night. By using new technology of integrated solar greenhouse dryer system [SGDS] with Clay-CaCl2 desiccant energy storage system was designed and tested. This model
Transparent packaging material from the Arecanut leaf sheath
Synthetic, non-degradable packaging materials have become a severe environmental threat, and therefore the demand is growing for environmentally friendly materials for sustainable packaging. This study presents a feasible method of developing a novel, sustainable packaging material using the Arecanut leaf sheath (ALS). CarboxyMethyl Cellulose was coated on the material for improving its
