XiliHerb is an emerging agribiotechnology startup focused on converting agricultural residues into high-value, sustainable bio-based products through innovative biomass processing technologies. The startup is developing an indigenous process to manufacture food- and pharmaceutical-grade xylitol from non-GMO agricultural waste, addressing the growing demand for healthier sugar alternatives while reducing dependence on imports. By transforming crop residues into value-added products, the company promotes circular economy principles, minimizes environmental pollution from stubble burning, and creates additional income opportunities for farmers.
At AIC-UASB, the startup is incubated to develop and scalup a cost-effective process for xylitol production using locally available agricultural biomass. Through sustainable processing and farmer-centric raw material sourcing, the startup aims to enhance farmer incomes, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen India’s bio-based manufacturing ecosystem.
